It is our unfortunate responsibility to advise everyone in this industry DO NOT DO BUSINESS with ‘James’. We paid $5000 to have our tiled roof sealed and painted by ‘James’. The result of the job was poor with a very uneven finish and areas with visibly poor cover. After several weeks trying to contact ‘James’, to request a review of his work, he finally returned our calls only after another business, with a very similar name, posted to a professional group on Facebook, about our experience. He then apologised profusely and promised to either give us our money back (or most of it) or allow him some time to save some money and he would come back and remedy the finish, which he agreed was sub-standard. We believe in giving people every chance to do the right thing so agreed to give a few weeks for him to be able to do the repairs. He stayed in contact for about three weeks and again has gone silent; unresponsive to our many contacts for the last six weeks. We have given ‘James’ every opportunity to fix his POOR WORKMANSHIP, yet despite his promises he has not delivered. We must, as reasonable people, take the steps we are now taking and advise everyone NOT TO DEAL with The Roofing Group Oz, ‘James’, and his business. Thankyou.

We had an issue with a plumbing issue at our Small Business. We found it hard to find someone who could do the job in a timely manner, but Bee Wise plumbing were local and were able to fit us in. Very thankful

We have had a terrible experience with SCE Pools.

Our pool was commissioned in November 2021 and we have been fighting the husband and wife owners who want to avoid taking responsibility for their defective work, since then. A large section of our pool does not have adequate water flow, due to incorrect plumbing. The male owner admitted that there was insufficient water flow in person (audio recorded by QBCC) but has not fixed it (attempted to with a larger pump but that didn’t work as he doesn’t seem to understand flow rates and friction loss in pipes).

Despite the fact that the QBCC inspector and an independent building inspector stated that there was insufficient water circulation, as well as a hydraulic engineer showing why (allegedly poor plumbing design), the male and female owners are continuing to deny there is a problem.

QBCC advised that this is a contractual issue, so we lodged it with QCAT. The owner informed myself and QBCC in writing that the delay in fixing our pool was due to his “personal issues”. He then changed his mind and advised in legal correspondence that it is due to the pool not being defective. Our auto-filler in the pool has also never worked.

My lawyer applied to join the owner of Sunshine Coast Excavations personally so that they cannot hide behind the company and just go bankrupt. My lawyer also applied to move the matter from QCAT to the District Court of Queensland. The lawyer acting for SCE Pools opposed that application and lost. Thankfully we are now in a costs jurisdiction, and this company and the director/s will be held responsible and fully accountable. I intend to continue to let people know that this company acts unethically and avoids taking responsibility for faulty work. Other people need to be warned!

Collateral damage to a faulty pool was damage to our front door, side fence, and front drain. To top it off, they were the most expensive quote we had (out of 3 quotes) and came highly recommended.

QBCC also advised that their contract is not compliant with QBCC regulations and were investigated for the contract and taking an excessive deposit. It took QBCC nearly a year to hold the owner accountable for these 2 issues but they have since ruled against the owner of SCE Pools. See QBCC record attached.

Learn from our defective pool and build a concrete pool with someone else.

Came to repair my driveway which was cracking. He concreted over the existing cracks without breaking up the old. It has since all broken and peeled off. Also said he could rescreen by security screens, 90% did them then did not return, I had to replace all the security screens because the ones that had been “repaired” – the mesh had been cut too short and frayed. Tradie (I use that term lightly) whom I got off Airtasker would return phone calls.

Will take your money quick enough, offer back up service and a 10yr warranty but just months after install the flooring started to bow. I phoned and spoke to the boss who told me it was not a warranty issue and I would have to pay to get it fixed. It was my fault I chose this flooring, my fault it was installed before the kitchen bench. The boss came and did the quote and knew exactly where the island bench was sitting. Use the company at your risk, satisfaction is definitely not guaranteed

Yeah, I got scammed.

My fault for dealing with a fraud off Airtasker. Wasn’t getting anywhere on the platform with constant backwards & forward messages. Goes by fake name Joe M. in Airtasker & the one 5 star review is likely fake. There were red flags in the different profile name but I checked supplied ABN against his real name & then advanced payment for materials.

Dude turns up with stair rails/bannisters that he’d constructed out of 4 pieces of wood nailed together.

I literally sent him a link to the railing required so he could purchase before installing.

Also sent him photos of steel brackets & he brings some naff wooden brackets. So neither the bannister nor the brackets looked anything like photos supplied.

Obviously this was screaming dodgy but I let it roll. He then makes out that he’s finding wall studs with his mobile phone. I honestly could’ve done the whole job myself but a stud finder was one tool I didn’t have ($50 at Bunnings :o()

The comedy kept coming. He uses my saw & my saw horses to cut the bannister lengths. This was after saying he was going to use an angle grinder. I also offered a tape measure but he used his phone as it was ‘super accurate’….

He cut two lengths, making the cut in the middle of the bannister across two saw horses. Supposed to be 1m & 1.2m. He goes to his car parked down the road to get the other length & I measure the cut lengths- both less than 1m.

When he finally turned-up with the second bannister, I told him to turn around and take it & his gear away. With no protest, he grabbed his bag & left.

I followed with a couple of tools he’d left & attempted to ask him if he had any skills at all. Said he had a rough day & didn’t want to talk. I told him to enjoy the money he’d scammed me out of.

He’s got a heap of a vehicle & he’ll park it down the road. Clearly has no skills. Mobile number I have is different to that he uses for pay ID.

Wow!!!! If I could give Shiraz Repairs 6 stars I would. What a phenomenal service. I left a message on Saturday that our washing machine was blocked and could I set up a repair visit. Eddie was out on SUNDAY AFTERNOON and the machine was unblocked and fixed in under 30 mins 🙌🙌🙌. The damage that a couple of shirt collar bones can do 😱. I obviously forgot to remove them!!! AND, all of this service was at a clear and VERY reasonable fixed price with no nasty ‘extras’. I won’t use any other washing machine repair service ever!!!!

Decided to do my new fencing with Goliath Fencing (info@goliathbuilding.com.au) This is a small company and lets say they are unprofessional in their job and tardy on the rude (Mr. Nathan) side especially after the job is done. Poor sense of design and they do not have a plan or any computer print of the job they are to undertake. Plenty of excuses to say he is a small company. Not consulted on how big the gate is going to be (he wants to fit a trailer in there) and the he think his design suits everyone’s liking. Poor communicator. See the pictures for yourself and the mess which I have to spend extra to rectify. Further to this the gate front and side it recessed to far in. A sheer wastage of space.

What was meant to be a straightforward call-out for a quote quickly turned into an uncomfortable experience of upselling and inflated pricing. I felt pressured into paying a 50% deposit on the spot without being given clear or transparent information about the terms and conditions — in particular, a 15% cancellation fee that was never properly explained at the time.

Within only a few hours, after reflecting on the situation, I contacted the business calmly and politely to cancel, providing legitimate reasons and requesting a one-time waiver of the fee. Instead of being met with understanding or even basic professionalism, I was told “you signed a legal document” and “actions have consequences.”

This response demonstrated a complete lack of transparency, compassion, and customer care. I was left with the impression that profit was prioritised above integrity or service. An expensive lesson, and one I would strongly advise others to avoid.

Very disappointed. Over $3000 to rewire the fuse box in early June 2025 and they left the damaged face plate (see damaged section under P3 in attached photo). Upon return they undertook to replace this face plate. I trusted them and paid the invoice. I regret this. The face plate has not been replaced and I have been ghosted over the three email enquiries since.

We asked if they cover the solar panels before cleaning off the mould and painting the roof. They said it was unnecessary. I said I wanted it done. We had a large roll of plastic and gave it to them. They did not use it. The dirt from washing off the mould and overspray (dark grey) was all over the panels. He said he’d come back in 2 weeks and clean them. Never showed, wouldn’t answer my calls or emails. My daughter phoned and he answered. He said we should get a quote for the cleaning and he would pay for it. The solar panel cleaner said I was the 4th customer who’d used this business (sent me a photo of the card, exactly the same as mine) and their panels were ruined. One customer had new panels so he paid $2000 to have the paint cleaned off by hand. We were lucky, only panels 3 and 4 were oversprayed. Regarding the painted skylight cover, he said he can’t clean it because it’s plastic. He also noted there were several broken tiles on the roof. Hopeing the QBCC can help. Avoid this business like the plague.

Stay clear of this fake company. They will cut corners, use unlicensed tradies and rip you off.

Don’t trust their 10 years guarantee on all work and talk about being fully insured, quality assured and highly experienced. They are unlicenced.

The initial quote of $17,250 for roof repairs, painting and general carpentry blew out to $32,700 and even then they did not complete the job as quoted. Forget complaining via email and phone. Once they have your money they just don’t care even if you’re disabled.

The owner of this fake company is NOT to be trusted … so be warned!

This lowlife, Yacoub Haydari ABN: 53 629 407 118, ripped me off to the tune of 35,000 dollars.

I am an eighty-year-old woman living in an inner suburb of Melbourne.

After a quote from this individual, we signed a contract for the works on April 6, 2024.

I paid him a deposit, and he kept asking for more money until he had the entire amount in his pocket. Then he left the whole job in an unsatisfactory condition and did not finish the job as agreed in the contract. He has since disconnected his phone and is unable to be contacted.

I warn anyone who encounters this person, DO NOT under any circumstances hire him for any work, as he will only take money from you and not finish the work agreed upon.

This situation has put me under a great deal of stress and caused health problems.

I have since found another contractor to finish the job, but in the ned it cost me double.

This husband and wife team are a dishonest pair. They have all but closed up shop so hopefully there are no more victims. Now selling up their home and using people’s hard earned money to travel Australia in their big ute and caravan. Talk about running away from a bad reputation of dishonesty, aggression, lies, and legal battles. Do not use this company for pool works or concreting. We are not the only victims either – we have spoken to others who have had absolutely awful experiences with this company.

Owner of this company is UNLICENSED. Great communication when he wants the work, turns up and does the quote on time. Half way through the job (as he had removed most of the sheets off roof) phones to say the old roof is too bad and needs full replacement. The quoted price $4500, had to pay another $5500 – Total of $10,000 to do the job which was a car port roof only. He chased me from that afternoon for full payment. Then the roof leaked like a sieve from the very first shower of rain. Wouldn’t return phone calls, texts, email account bounced. Mailed letter even was returned. DO NOT USE THIS GUY.
